custom dress | summer wedding.

Hello Texas! This custom dress is on it's way to the Lone Star State, only to make it's way back to Charleston, South Carolina this summer (what frock wouldn't want to show itself off in the Lowcountry?). My sweet friend Molly asked me to make a dress for her to wear to her cousin's wedding at Lowndes Grove, a b-e-a-utiful plantation on the water, just one street over from my old abode. Requirements: low back, textured fabric, and cap sleeves. Feast your eyes on this sneak peek:

jewelry | chassity necklace.

Have you ever been inspired by someone you've never even met? Prime example is the coral + mint little combo below.
Chassity of Look Linger Love is the woman behind this statement piece. She mentioned her fave colors for the spring and with a little knowledge of her incredible style and presence in Charleston, this piece was born. It's structured and bold, yet it's subtle shades complement any light summer ensemble. The look is classy and refined, with an element of sass. Everyone that meets her, loves her. She's laid back, yet the life of the party.

Make the Chassity Necklace your very own. And do yourself a favor, you know you want to meet her!

jewelry | on a string.

Last weekend I spent a rainy Saturday afternoon roaming around the 18,000 Queen streets here and ventured to a local bead store, On a String. This quaint shop is owned by two sisters, one of whom shares not only my name but also my Alma mater. Go Vols. Finding a bead store that offers quality supplies at a reasonable price, with a major selection has been a challenge after moving from Knoxville. You know what I mean, either they charge $40 for an inch of chain or the beads look like something that should only pair with hemp - I'm not impressed. On a String offers a killer selection, I'm dying to design a necklace with their resin chains! After feeling inspired by my sweet friend Kristin, who would kill for anything turquoise or orange, this little beaut was born:
I think I know someone who should have this around her neck...

bring on the sun.

All this warm weather, now in the Queen City, and cherry blossoms have me dreaming of lighter fabrics and brighter colors. There is something about change and new places and people that translates to wardrobes. I would like to switch out the contents of my closet for a get-up more like this. And remember the days when the weeks leading up to Easter were marked with the hunt for a perfect dress? I'm pretty sure this would do just fine.

wamer weather on my mind.

All this back-and-forth, confused weather has me dreaming of warmer places and brighter colors. I personally could go without cold weather months all together. Shorter hemlines, ice cream, and sunscreen are just a few of my summer loves. And the Maldives only make the sun and sand more appealing. bridesmaids dresses | the meghan.

I've been hiding behind yards and yards of chocolate brown dupioni silk for the past two weeks sewing and fitting bridesmaids dresses for a dear friend's wedding in April. The only request was that we wear brown dresses, so beyond that the choice was wide opened on our end. The Meghan dress is the first one on the scene, fully lined and sleeveless with a ruffle neckline. Here are some of the details:

color | shades of green.

Green has always been a staple in my closet and for my home. I love the varying shades of this arguably neutral color. Try pairing it with khaki, taupe, chocolate, navy, or bold colors for the spring. Any of these softer pieces will suffice quite nicely for dress up or the interiors:
